I circled around the airport a couple three times and tried the autopilot. It engaged for a couple of seconds, then turned off. What? As I mentioned in an earlier log entry, I had the EFIS and autopilot servos on a 5amp breaker, but with the servos powered up, the load was a little more than that. That was an easy fix later on the ground. I tried the new electric trim and it worked great. I tried the new electric flaps and they worked great. I tried a couple of stalls, and they were smooth and manageable. Both the Dynon GPS and the Garmin 696 GPS systems were working well. I circled around and came in on downwind and then made a sweet wheel landing on 7R.
It was by all measurements a perfect test flight and a fantastic way to end a 59-day journey. Would I do it again? In a heart beat! It was a lot of fun and best of all I ended up with a spectacular airplane!
Now to get the carpet finished and then onto some flying adventures!
