The new Dynon Skyview EFIS and Matronics FuelChec DX installations would each require a new FloScan 201b fuel flow transducer installation. This new fangled fuel flow function would be a new feature for 'ol N360EM as it previously had no fuel flow instrumentation at all. I don't know how you can even fly a plane without fuel flow readings!
There's not a whole lot of room to install flow transducers in the RV-6 and the space issue was compounded by the fact that I wanted to install them both on the cabin side of the firewall. I scratched my head for a couple of days and came up with a pretty slick arrangement that allowed me to simply replace a single piece of hard fuel tubing between the electric fuel pump and the firewall. It came out really cool and is nicely tucked out of the way. Later I added a piece of threaded rod and a 3" spacer between the transducer mounting flange and the upper longeron. It really stiffened up the installation and made the whole thing pretty rugged. If I were a Boy Scout, I think I would deserve my "Master Tube Bender" badge about now...
